Elif received her PhD in theoretical physics from Istanbul Technical University in January 2015 with the thesis titled "Dirac systems in terms of the Berry gauge fields and effective field theory of a topological insulator" . She has led her postdoctoral studies in Istanbul Technical University, Koç University and University of Malta. Her research centers around topological materials and she investigates different aspects of these materials using tools from quantum physics, quantum field theory, and quantum thermodynamics. She has recently joined Nodds at Kadir Has University in February 2021, where she investigates correlations in 1D topological chains through quantum networks
